ADR and Dangerous Goods
ADR – Transport of Hazardous Goods by Road.
ADR is French for “European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road” which is a treaty dating back to 1957 from the United Nations regarding the governance of international transport of Dangerous Goods. The original French name for the 1957 Treaty was:
“Accord européen relatif au transport international des marchandises Dangereuses par Route”
Hence abbreviation to ADR.
It is a legal requirement that this kind of transport is only carried out by trained drivers with fully equipped vehicles, for the safety of the load, driver, vehicle, and of course other road users.
Our drivers attend refresher courses every 5 years to maintain their training. They also carry all relevant PPE, and ADR Kit. We have our DGSA (Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor) based here, and they are also regularly trained to maintain their qualification.
We can advise on moving Hazardous and Dangerous goods.
